JOSH DODGSON - Assistant Professional, Petworth House Tennis Court.
PROFILE :

Josh has been playing real tennis and other sports since the age of 8 at Seacourt Tennis Club. His coaches have been Peter Dawes and Danny Jones, and they have assisted him in winning various national junior singles and doubles competitions over the years.

He decided to concentrate on tennis and joined the Petworth Professional team in August 2009 as a junior pro, on a part time basis. Throughout his 15 month spell at the club he has been under close tutelage of Chris Bray and Tom Durack resulting in his handicap dropping from 15 to 9. With this improvement has come success in tournaments including The National Under 24 Doubles, winning it two years running with his partner Tom Weaver; he has also done well in various other senior tournaments. Being a part of the T & RA/Dedanists Academy has had a large influence on his game.

After a brief spell away from Petworth, Josh rejoined in May 2011 on a full time basis. He continues to improve and aims to reduce his handicap to 6 in the short term; he will be playing in almost all tournaments, both in the UK and overseas.

As well as his playing career, Josh's overall improvement in all aspects of carrying out club professional duties have developed greatly and will continue to do so with the supportive board and professional team at Petworth.
